Student Awards

To encourage West Cumbrian Students to think about a career in Engineering, we offer bursaries to students heading for university, 6th form and college.

We hope these rewards will encourage our local youngsters to think about a career in science or engineering.

Are you in Year 11? Ever thought about studying a STEM subject in 6th Form or College? If yes, apply for a Post 16 Award and you could be the winner of £200.00 cash.

Post 16 Awards

Could you be one of the great scientists and engineers of the future? Have you thought about all the places a career in STEM could take you? If you want to help solve problems of all shapes and sizes, why not study an engineering or science related subject, e.g. maths, any of the sciences, computer science, product design etc. at A-Level or through an equivalent diploma at college. If you decide this path is for you, you should apply for the REACT Foundation Post 16 Award.and you could be the winner of £200.00 cash. All you need to do is tell us why you think you deserve this award?

Could university be for you? Maybe you're worrying about the cost of study? We might be able to help! If you are studying a STEM subject at 6th Form or college apply for the REACT Foundation University Award and you could win £3000 to help with your studies.. If you are considering Mechanical Engineering your application could also be considered for an additional bursary of £1,000 courtesy of IMechE West Cumbria Branch.

University Bursary Awards

A degree in engineering, science or maths could help unlock an exciting future and give you the tools to help solve some of the world's biggest problems. We want to help bright, motivated West Cumbrians like you, achieve your full potential. If you are currently in Year 12 or college and are considering an undergraduate degree (Bacherlor's or above) in an Engineering, Science or Maths related subject why not apply for the REACT Foundation Bursary Award and we could pay you upto £3,000 cash. Simply write a short personal statement telling us why you think you should receive this award. If you intend to study mechanical engineering, dont forget to tick the box to apply for the £1,000 IMechE West Cumbria Bursary.
