Applications for students intending to start their university course September 2024 are OPEN.
Purpose
The object of the charity is to encourage West Cumbrian students to study an engineering or engineering related degree at university.
If you are planning on studying towards an undergraduate degree level Bachelor's or Masters in an engineering or science related subject, why not apply for the REACT Foundation Bursary Award. The Foundation could pay you up to £3,000 in cash, - all you have to do is write a short personal statement telling us why you think you should receive the award.
In addition, IMechE West Cumbria branch has offered a bursary of £1,000 to a student heading for university to study mechanical engineering. There is no extra work involved. If you plan on studying Mechanical Engineering at university just put 'Yes' into the Mechanical bursary award options box on the Application form and you will be considered for both awards.

Eligibility: Candidates wishing to be considered for a prize must:

Have a permanent West Cumbria address (within the Copeland or Allerdale Area).

Apply for the grant with the intention of pursuing a Bachelors degree or above in an engineering, science, maths or related subject (Course commencing 2023).
Eligibility for IMechE West Cumbria Award
Candidates wishing to be considered for a prize must:
- Have a permanent Cumbrian address within the Copeland or Allerdale Area.
- Apply for the grant with the intention of pursuing a Bachelors degree or above in mechanical engineering, commencing study in 2024. Please don't forget to tick the box to enter for this award.
Closing Date for receipt of applications - Closing Date: 28th July 2023
Applicants should note that the Trustees will apply for a reference from the student's 6th Form or College to support the application.
Please note: proof of acceptance onto a degree course must be given prior to allocation of grant.
